are we forced to be just salt?
under this apron of skin
touched by swimming hands
there is breath everywhere
we each marry the air
sharing it unknown

if your hand were to strike my nose
yours would sting too
waves can hinder each other if they meet
yet they still travel and discover
we take a bath in each other
to remember how to stay clean
