thoughts of grief are like these sands - numerous
we're fortunate that memories of the good are luminous
each day, though dark, is a new start
we see the waves break
a dog digs a deep hole in the sand
reminding us of our hearts

This poem was inspired by a very touching poem we read at a memorial for Wesley Belisle in Kittyhawk, NC.
