Freeverse 540

10/11/21

I confiscate the light in the brittle twilight
connecting the halves of my jacket as nature loops
the tree rhymes, rarely pausing
crickets in dust and hunchback rocks
I soak up these gradients
their colors and textures like fish and coral
scents accentuated, explicit
I count things I've never counted before
tomorrow grows like bamboo
